Agritech Startup RoboCare Secures 216 Capital Funding for Middle East, Africa Push

RoboCare, a Tunisian agricultural technology startup specializing in artificial intelligence and precision farming, has secured a six-figure investment from venture capital firm 216 Capital to fund its regional expansion.

Founded in the hub of Sfax, RoboCare develops a proprietary agricultural management platform designed to help farmers streamline operations and mitigate crop loss. The system synthesizes data from multiple streams, including satellite imagery, drone feeds, IoT sensors, and localized weather metrics, to provide farmers with actionable field insights. By leveraging custom AI models, the software enables the early detection of crop diseases and water stress, allowing operators to optimize resource allocation and boost overall farm yields.

The fresh injection of capital will primarily support RoboCare’s next growth phase as it scales its footprint across African and Middle Eastern markets, regions increasingly vulnerable to climate volatility and food insecurity.

The investment underscores a growing venture appetite for sustainability-focused tech in emerging markets. Venture capital firms are increasingly targeting platforms that address resource scarcity while boosting commercial output.

“For 216 Capital, this investment fully aligns with its strategy of supporting high-potential tech startups,” said Hassen Arfaoui, principal at 216 Capital. He noted that the firm prioritizes backing companies “capable of delivering concrete answers to the continent’s major economic, social, and environmental challenges.”
